Proverbs

Proverbs 28:19-22 say, "He who tills his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows frivolity will have poverty enough! A faithful man will abound with blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished. To show partiality is not good, because for a piece of bread a man will transgress. A man with an evil eye hastens after riches, and does not consider that poverty will come upon him.” And verse 27 adds, “He who gives to the poor will not lack, but he who hides his eyes will have any curses.”

Consider how often our "fields" of projects remain unfinished. Tilling the land could metaphorically be mowing the lawn, writing an essay, washing the dishes, budgeting time and money, or combing your hair. Though tilling land is specifically a "means of provision" in a way that these items I've mentioned are not, the principle still applies. He who fulfills his tasks will have plenty, but he who follows his whims will have poverty.
