Lisa and I got back

Lisa and I got back late Sunday night from a road trip to North Dakota. My brother James was married on Friday night to a fine young lady named Julie. That's two Huntington weddings in less than five months! If we can just get one more in . . .

The trip was wonderful. We did the driving in two days each way, spending a total of four days on the road. It took about 12 hours each day. We spent the remaining four days of our trip in North Dakota, visiting friends and seeing sights. We spent one whole day in Medora, a tourist town built around Teddy Roosevelt's hunting cabin. TR also had a ranch house a little north of Medora, but we didn't visit his ranch site. My family had a small family reunion during the days before the wedding, so all of my dad's brothers and their families were in Medora, as well. We attended the Medora Musical, which plays every night. We camped in the campground in Teddy Roosevelt National Park--Lisa's first camping trip.

The wedding was lovely. And the party afterword lasted long into the night. James and Julie even stayed until 12:15! (The wedding began at 4:30.) We had a nice dinner and hours of dancing. I got to see and Lisa got to meet many long-time friends, some of whom I hadn't seen in several years. We had a blessed time, and we are glad to be home in Louisiana.
